The Graduate School Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)

GSAS encourages students to apply for external assistance and provides tuition support to recipients of external awards. Students receiving external awards of $13,000 or more from recognized academic sources of funding outside of the University can apply for matching tuition credits up to the amount of their outside award. Students receiving external awards of less than $13,000 may apply for matching tuition credits up to 50 percent of the amount of the external award.

Bachelor’s-Master’s Program 

Current students in the College of Arts & Science (CAS) and Global Liberal Studies (GLS), with at least one full academic year remaining before graduation, have the opportunity to earn a Master’s degree from GSAS in one year with a 50% discount on graduate tuition and registration and service fees.

Before completing their Bachelor’s degree, accepted Bachelor’s-Master’s students must complete a certain number of required graduate coursework (with a minimum grade of “B”) to make progress toward their intended Master’s program.

CAS/GSAS Tuition Program

NYU College of Arts and Science students who are admitted to select GSAS master’s programs may be eligible for a 25% tuition discount for courses required for the degree program.

January, May and September graduates from the CAS who complete their undergraduate degree prior to enrolling at GSAS are eligible. Students must apply for admission to a GSAS eligible program, be offered admission and enroll immediately following completion of their B.A. in the summer or fall.

GSAS Tuition Assistance Program for School Teachers

GSAS offers a financial aid program to assist elementary and secondary school teachers within the tri-state area with their GSAS tuition. Under this program, the Graduate School will offer a financial aid award of 50 percent of tuition (not including fees) to qualified full-time classroom teachers enrolled in GSAS.
