If the possibility of your business ideas becoming a reality excites you. If you are passionate about working on highly technical and impactful projects and moved by making a difference in today's digital world, the MS-CEI program is for you.
The MS-CEI program is designed for students and professionals interested in pursuing technology entrepreneurship or assuming leadership roles in innovative technology based organizations. Within the context of the already rigorous Master's programs, MS-CEI draws from the same courses as the Courant Institute's Computer Science graduate degree programs and the Stern School of Business MBA programs plus new courses in entrepreneurship and software development processes.
This program is specifically designed for students who already have strong technical skills (programming and analytical) and a passion for solving problems using technology. The core program is modeled for students who have finished an undergraduate degree or have a strong professional background in computer science, electrical engineering, economics or mathematics disciplines with deep experience in programming and have analytical and mathematical skills. Another key ingredient we look for in students is the passion for pursuing entrepreneurship and making a difference in this world. Having work experience in the innovation sector does have a significant weightage in the admissions process.
The program is designed to train students to be innovative technological entrepreneurs and thought leaders with strong computer science, entrepreneurial and leadership skills. We envision students who graduate from this program will have the right balance of business skills, ethics and know how with a combination of advanced technical skills to pursue diverse career opportunities. Upon graduation students will be both technically strong engineers and possess business acumen and will be able to succeed in entrepreneurship, technology, enterprises, applied domains (healthcare, travel, fashion, etc.) and social impact organizations.
Students of the program will have access to the resources provided by the NYU Entrepreneurial Institute, including incubators, startup financing, mentorship and alumni networks, and of course direct access to the rising NYC technology ecosystem that includes a wide variety of technology firms.
