At a high level, I am very intersted in researching the
strategic value of big data and predictive analytics to address high-impact
social problems such as financial markets problems, disease outbreaks, climate change and well-being. I have been
researching and developing biologically inspired algorithms, specifically swarm intelligence
algorithms, that can contribute to the machine learning literature.
My passion lies in creating
data mining algorithms to discover hidden knowledge and insights and apply them to financial
markets, climate change and poverty reduction initiatives. I am interested
in researching how data mining algorithms can be developed and applied to understand the
dynamics of social networks including identifying social communities, community
outliers and most influential individuals, and predicting events from micro-blogs
such as Twitter.
