of the classic text *Introduction to Mathematical Logic* and longtime
professor at Queens College, City University of New York, died May 7 at the
age of 88. He received his PhD in 1955 from Cornell University under the
direction of John Barkley Rosser (Sr.), was a Junior Fellow in Harvard
University's Society of Fellows and later a faculty member at Columbia
University before joining the faculty at Queens College in 1961. Read more
