You have meant computer algebra system in general or some concrete
computer algebra system ?
For example, I use two of such programs, for some computations in
theoretical physics (deriving of so-called Bogomolny equations (Bogomolny
decomposition), exact solutions of nonlinear partial differential
equations etc.). When you are carrying out such computations, many ideas
can appear, they depend on the kind of the problem investigated by you.
