Internet Protocol (IP) Suite
Most widely used protocol suite.
IP= Internet Protocol (network layer)
TCP=Transmission Control Protocol
UDP=User Datagram Protocol
Users usually do not interact with IP layer but TCP or UDP.
Developed by ARPA in late 60's and 70's for the ARPANET, for research. In 1984, ARPANET splits off MILNET.
