HOMEWORK 3:
AUTOMATIC MODEL GENERATION

INTRODUCTION

In this exercise, we address the automatic generation of large geometric models. In particular, we want to be able to generate a Manhattan-like model. There are two issues:
(1) We need ways of specifying large scale models without coding each detail by hand. E.g. what tools do we need to conveniently generate a city neigbhood comprisng about 100 blocks?
(2) Second we must parameterize our model generation so that, by setting different options, you can generate different versions of a basic design. The choice and design of the parameter space is critical.
In this homework, we hope to combine your collective wisdom to generate ONE large model. Note that our objective is to get this model, but it is unavoidable that you need to insert some simple software to view or validate your model.
