README FILE for VGA FENCE

INTRODUCTION
	This game is called VGA Fencing and is written
	by Albert Ming, Warren Chang and Robert Kong,
	for my Machine Organization I
	(v22.0201.001) class in the fall of 1996.

OBJECT OF GAME
	VGA Fencing is a simulator of the Olympic sport of fencing.
	The fencers abide by some approximation to the standard
		IFA Epee rules.
	The player controls the left fencer while the computer
		controls the right fencer.
	The match is to 5 points.
	A fencer scores a point by touching the opponent
		with his blade.
	You move back and forth on the strip while attacking and
		guarding.
	There are 3 basic attacks and 3 basic parries, which
		are simplified as High/Middle/Low parries.
	If your opponent strikes at your head, and you are parrying
		at your waise, you will get hit!

HOW TO PLAY
	Press the left/right arrow keys to move left/right.
	Press the following keys for these effects:
		W = strike high
		S = strike middle
		X = strike low
		Q = parry high
		A = parry middle
		Z = parry low
	Press ESC to abort game.

REMARKS
	1) Further information may be found in the file info.txt
		in this directory.
	2) I can always fool the computer and win in this game!
		Try to make the computer less predictable!
