We currently have StarOffice 5.1. It's in /opt/Office51. To set it
up, you can do the following:

1) Put /opt/Office51/bin/ on your PATH.

2) Run /opt/Office51/bin/setup. This will create and populate a
subdirectory of your home directory, by default called Office51 or
   something like that.

3) You can now run soffice to start StarOffice. Note that it is
important to run the setup first, because running soffice first
will seem to work OK, but there will problems because ceratin
   things were not setup.

Note: We plan to install the newest version (5.2) as time and space
permits. That will probably be installed in /opt/Office52, so your
PATH would need to be changed accordingly when we upgrade.

One of the reasons for the delay is the annoying "setup" step that
people can easily forget. We need to work out a painless way for
people to use it before it's advertised. Upgrading from 5.1 to 5.2
may require individual users to do something as well.
