We pointed out that computationally, computer graphic imagery
tends to fall into two troughs:
- Non-real time CGI (1-10 hours per frame)
- Interactive CGI (30-120 frames per second)
Generally speaking, there are three major components to a computer graphics system:
- Modeling (both shapes and materials)
- Animation
- Rendering
We watched two seminal and historically important CGI animations:
