Title: Rule-based modelling of signalling in messenger RNA transcription

Abstract: The transcription of messenger RNA is an essential process in
the expression of eukaryotic genes. This presentation will outline the
key biological steps in this process, their regulation, and the
challenges of modelling this process computationally. The dynamic
phosphorylation of the C terminal domain of the RNA polymerase enzyme
will be discussed in some detail, and comparisons between rule-based and
conventional modelling of this regulatory process will be made.
