2016 Workshop on Quantitative Genetic Trait Prediction
(QGTP 2016)
in conjunction with IEEE BIBM 2016, Shenzhen, China, December 15-18, 2016

As one of the most important developments in the past 13000 years of human history, plant and animal breedings have entered into the era of genetics. Whole genome prediction of complex phenotypic traits using high-density genotyping arrays has attracted lots of attention, as it is relevant to the fields of plant and animal breeding and genetic epidemiology. Given a set of biallelic molecular markers, such as SNPs, with genotype values typically encoded as {0, 1, 2} on a collection of plant, animal or human samples, the goal is to predict the quantitative trait values by simultaneously modeling all marker effects. The problem is called genetic trait prediction or genomic selection.

This workshop focuses on predicting quantitative genetic traits under different scenarios. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

The QGTP 2016 workshop will be held in conjunction with the IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine 2016 (BIBM 2016), Shenzhen, China, Dec. 15-18, 2016.

Online Submission

Please submit a full-length paper (up to 8 pages IEEE 2-column format) through the online submission system (you can download the format instruction here). Electronic submissions (in PDF or Postscript format) are required.

Journal Special Issue

After the workshop, we plan to publish selected papers (with technically significant expansion and revision) as a special issue in some highly respected journal.
