Two’s Complement Notation

• Select pattern length

• Pick pattern with all 0s to match zero

• Count up until pattern with MSB 0 and all 1s

• Count backward in binary until pattern with MSB 1 with all 0s

• Negative values have MSB of 1

• When adding, truncate final carry
