What if Claude Monet had lived to see the rise of Americana pastoral kitsch in the style of Thomas Kinkade? And what if he resorted to it to support himself in his old age? We could only speculate until now.
Thanks to the magic of Cycle GANS, we can finally realize the dream of Claude Monet revisiting his cherished work in light of Thomas Kinkade, the self-stylized painter of light. All technical credit goes to Jun-Yan Zhu, Taesung Park, Phillip Isola, Alyosha Efros although I am not sure that they approve of this use.
I hope you'll agree that the paintings are much improved. I've selected a few especially good ones and a few especially famous ones. Note the great warmth, typical of Kinkade's style and the inventive, expressive palette.
