[FOM] job: Lecturer in Mathematical Philosophy

The University of Sydney is currently advertising the position of Lecturer in Mathematical Philosophy.

This is a full-time, continuing position at Level B (roughly equivalent to a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the U.S.).

Applicants should:

* have an outstanding research record and compelling future research programme in the area of Mathematical Philosophy: the development of theories and methods in mathematics, logic, or other areas of the formal sciences and their application to genuinely philosophical questions and problems in logic, philosophy of language, epistemology, ethics or other areas of philosophy

* be able to teach from introductory through to advanced undergraduate level in relevant areas (for example, but not limited to, mathematical logic, probability theory, decision theory, formal semantics, philosophy of language or epistemology) and be able to develop new units of study where needed

* be able to supervise Honours, Masters and PhD students in their areas of expertise.

The successful applicant will be expected to pursue an active research programme, produce high quality publications, participate in the departments research culture, contribute to teaching at all levels, and undertake appropriate administrative roles and curriculum development as required.
