Science and technology have transformed the world through the objective
guidance of mathematics and experiments. No similar objective guide
exists for the human values that determine how we use this power and
this is becoming increasingly dangerous. The simplest possible
assumption about the connection between physical structure and conscious
experience leads to the possibility of an objective approach to human
values. The incompleteness results imply that ever expanding diversity
somewhat like that of biological evolution will eventually be essential
to fully explore the mathematical possibilities and the possibilities
for the evolution of consciousness.

These ideas are developed in www.mtnmath.com/phil/evol.pdf
