We logicians are not, by and large, doing a good job of preserving
the history of our subject.  For all four of the names listed
(R. Bayer, V. Glivenko, Stephen Kiss, Rene Poirier) there are publications
listed in the JSL vol. 26 index.  From the publications, one can tell
what academic institutions they were at.  But real *biographical* information
is hard to come by.
