To add on Darwinism: I think that Neil is right.
Indeed, you have a deep logical-mathematical theory of Darwinism.
I think it was first put in final form by
John Holland,
Adaptation in natural and artificial systems
Ann Arbor: The University of Michigan Press
1975
The book works out combinatorial logic to explain the main evolutionary
neodarwinistic ideas, and with success.
In fact it is hard math!
