POSTDOC POSITION IN SEMANTIC-WEB REASONING
Salary: roughly EUR 38.300 per year before taxes
Duration: two years
Availability: immediately
The Knowledge-Based Systems Group of the Institute for Information Systems at
the Vienna University of Technology, Austria, seeks applications for one postdoc
position in the project
"Answer Set Programming for the Semantic Web",
funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). The objective of the project is to
research methods for providing advanced reasoning services in the context of the
Semantic Web, using declarative knowledge representation and reasoning
techniques. In particular, the use of logic programming under the answer set
semantics for realizing languages and tools which extend the capabilities of
current approaches shall be investigated.
We look for candidates with an excellent background in Semantic Web technologies
and reasoning methods, with a particular expertise on ontological reasoning and
description logics. Knowledge about answer set programming is a bonus but not
required. Experienced non-PhD students with a completed Master's degree are also
welcomed to apply.
