STANFORD UNIVERSITY, STANFORD, CA.  Assistant professor, three-year
term, beginning September 2002.  Ph.D. required by start of
appointment.  Salary competitive.  AOS: Logic, AOC: Open, but
experience with philosophical aspects of logic and/or applications of
logic to other fields (linguistics, computer science, and so on)
preferred.  Teaching load: 5 quarter courses/year (three quarter
system), reduction to 4 courses in the third year.  Includes advanced
undergraduate courses and opportunity to teach one graduate course or
seminar each year.  The department has teaching needs at the upper
division undergraduate level in logic; in particular it needs someone
who will do an outstanding job at teaching the course in first order
logic following the well-known text by H. Enderton, especially someone
able to reach a diverse audience (including students from philosophy,
mathematics, linguistics, cognitive science, and computer science).
