FOM: Interesting review of Chaitin

FOM subscribers who have been following the 
Chaitin thread might be interested in the very 
thoughtful review of Chaitin's
work by Peter Gacs in the JSL, Vol. 54 (1989),
p. 624.  In particular, Gacs argues, based on
an information conservation theorem of Leonid Levin,
that Chaitin's results do not support the idea
of empirical mathematics.
