I have been showing some of the correspondence here to my colleague John Baldwin.
He offers a link to a draft of an essay on "foundations" he wrote about 10 years ago.
He asks me to say:
 " Please mention in your note that while
this is a polemic in favor of one kind of analysis of foundations,
it is not meant to denigrate the contributions of the proof theoretic
school."
