Passport and VISA requirements
All foreign visitors to India are required to have a valid passport and obtain a VISA from the Indian High Commission or Indian Consulate in their respective country. Entry into India will be denied with out a valid entry permit (VISA). Participants requiring visas should apply well in advance prior to making final travel arrangements with a travel agent. It is suggested that you try to procure a tourist visa, in general.
You will need an official invitation letter and a visa request letter from the organizers which you will submit at the time of application of visa. Please contact Nidhi Srivatsava for the letters.
One can fly into Bangalore at the International Airport in Devanahalli. International airlines that fly in directly to Bangalore include Air India, Indian Airlines, Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines, Air Malaysia, Thai Airways and Jet Star Asia. Note that the Lufthansa flight is code-shared with United.Prepaid taxi services are available at the airport. A 24-hr pre-paid ticket counter is located in the Terminal II Arrivals Hall. Auto rickshaws are also available outside the terminal.
Domestic (National) Travel
Speakers and participants are requested to make their own onward and return reservations.
- The organizers will arrange to receive the speakers at Bangalore airport.
- Transport to the venue of the symposium and back will be arranged by the organizers from the hotel and all guest houses where they provide accommodation.
