Jerseyville Illinois Woman Indicted on Charges Related to Heroin
Overdose Death
AUG 25  -- (EAST ST. LOUIS, IL) - A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced that 
Jamie E. DAY  , age 25, of Jerseyville, Illinois, has been indicted in a single count indictment charging her with Distribution of a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death. According to the indictment, on June 8, 2009, 
DAY  distributed heroin to Kelby W. Willman, who died as a result of ingesting the drug. Willman, also of Jerseyville, was 23 years old when he died.
If convicted, 
DAY  faces a sentence of between 20 years and life imprisonment, a fine of up to $1 
million, and at least three years of supervised release, to be served following any term of incarceration.
The investigation which resulted in 
DAY'S  indictment was conducted by the Jerseyville Police 
Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The case is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Robert L. Garrison for prosecution.
