Drug Investigation Leads to Racketeering Case and 36 Indictments
MAY 02 (DENVER) -  The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Western Colorado Drug Task Force, Two Rivers Drug Enforcement Team (TRIDENT), and the 21st Judicial District Attorney's Office have completed the first phase of an investigation that has resulted in the seizure of significant amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine and a grand jury indictment of 36 defendants.
The four month investigation identified a drug trafficking organization that imported methamphetamine and cocaine from Mexico into western Colorado, California, Kansas, and Nevada. To date, 25 people are in custody, and 10 pounds of methamphetamine, 9 pounds of cocaine, $144,300 cash, 9 firearms, and 8 vehicles have been seized during the execution of search warrants related to the arrests.

The investigation continues, with more arrests and seizures anticipated.
