Dear Colleagues,

1. Great. We can move forward.
I'm glad we have reached a compromise we both consider fair.

2. though can we avoid the NDA?
I don't want to know ANY of your secrets. None.
And I can't afford an overly broad NDA as I'm around finance companies
all the time.

3. All students should have the latest
production version q loaded (can be the free version).
https://code.kx.com/trac/browser/kx/kdb%2B

4. The beginning students should download

http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smarties1.zip
http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smarties3.zip
http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smarties4.zip
http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smarties5.zip

5. The advanced students should download

http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smarties2.zip
http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smarties3.zip

http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smartiesfin.zip
http://cs.nyu.edu/cs/faculty/shasha/papers/smartiescompress.zip

All files should be downloaded and unzipped.

Best,
Dennis

Ok, I agree to this but the intent was not to change the rules at the =
last
minute, important to me that you know that.
Please send me any written documentation that you normally provide. I =
will
be sending you the NDA, 1099 form, etc
Please also confirm what needs to be loaded onto each machine. We should
probably schedule a call this week to go through all other details

Denise

Dear Colleagues,

....

4. However, in the spirit of compromise from what I consider
to be the very fair proposal I have made, here is an intermediate
proposal.
If you agree to this, then let us proceed.

if X are the beginning students and Y are the advanced students,
then:

(2,500 * 2/3 * X) + (2,500 * 1/3 * Y).

If X = 10 and Y = 2, this comes to

16,666 + 1,666 = 18,332.

As for the teaching speed, we will move as fast as the students
are getting stuff.
There is more than enough to cover but there is a big difference
between passive understanding and active understanding.

Regards,
Dennis
