New York's Central Park was the scene of a dramatic confrontation between renown American icon Mr. Clean and artist Christo. Announcing the advent of "Liberation Laundry Art," Mr. Clean took over a space near Christo's installation of "The Gates" proclaiming that his saffron-colored sheets were "cleaner, brighter and better smelling" than those belonging to Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude. Through a spokesperson, Christo scoffed at the idea saying, "Our sheets are not only cleaner, but dry more quickly and are wrinkle-proof!" Both sides of the dispute said that their lawyers were studying possible legal remedies.
