READING ASSIGNMENT

This is generic instructions for the reading assignments in most of my classes.

I try to assign the general chapters at the beginning of the semester. You are strongly encouraged to read the reading assignment before each lecture. The goal of this preliminary reading is to ``prime'' you for the lecture. You are not expected to understand all of what you read. Rather, try to understand the high level goals of the material.

NOTE: if there is a detailed reading schedule for the semester, and we fall behind, it is usually possible to predict what to read next. Of course, you can always ask me for more specific sections in chapters.
