`ആലപ്പുഴ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സ്കൂളില് പഠിച്ചിരുന്നകാലത്തു് ഐ. സി. രചിച്ച പ്രസ്താവാര്ഹമായ ഒരു് കൃതി `പ്ലമ്മേനാവൃത്തം' ഖണ്ഡകാവ്യമായിരുന്നു. ഒരു് രക്തസാക്ഷിണിയെന്നു് കരുതപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഫിലോമിനായുടെ ചരിത്രത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി പല സംസ്കൃതവൃത്തങ്ങളില് 200 ശ്ലോകങ്ങളുള്ള ഒരു് കാവ്യമായിരുന്നു അതു്. അന്നു് മാന്നാനത്തു് ഒരു് വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥിയായിരുന്ന കണ്ടത്തില് മാര് ആഗസ്തീനോസ് മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്താ അതു് പകര്ത്തിയെടുക്കുക പോലും ചെയ്തു. പക്ഷേ അതിന്റെ കൈയെഴുത്തുപ്രതികള് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണു്.' ["A notable work I. C. composed during the time when he was studying at English School, Alleppey, was the short poem `Plammaenaavruththam [The Cycle of St. Philomena]'. This was a poem in 200 stanzas involving many Sanskrit metres, founded on the history of St. Philomena who was believed to be a martyr. The Metropolitan Mar Augustine Kandathil, then a seminarian at Mannanam, even copied it out in longhand. But the manuscripts of the poem are now lost."]
