Finite volume schemes based on central WENO reconstructions

Speaker: Gabriella Puppo, Sapienza University of Rome

Location: Warren Weaver Hall online

Date: April 9, 2021, 10 a.m.

Synopsis:

In this talk I will describe the central WENO (CWENO) reconstruction, which guarantees uniform accuracy within a whole cell. This peculiarity permits us to tackle several applications more easily. I will describe the spectral properties of these reconstructions, introducing the concept of numerical distortion and temperature. As application, I will consider the construction of semi-conservative schemes, which provide faster algorithms for some systems of conservation laws.
