Puzzle Corner

History

I have been editing "Puzzle Corner" for more than 45 years. When I was a junior at MIT in 1965-66, I was asked to start the column for Tech Engineering News, a student run magazine, that is now defunct.

During the summer of 1966, John Mattill asked me to include Puzzle Corner in Technology Review, of which he was the editor-in-chief. For a few years Puzzle Corner ran in both magazines and continues to be published in TR.

Back Issues

TR has graciously permitted me to post back issues of the column.

Overflow Material

Starting academic 2000-2001, I have posted material that could not fit in the printed column due to space limitations. There is a firm limit of 2 pages for ``Puzzle Corner''. Please note that the problem is referred to by the issue in which it was posed, not the issue in which the solution was to appear.
